    <narrative xml:lang="en">Tujali Pamoja project - Empowering youth and women through MHM, SRHR and small-scale business management</narrative>
  </title>
  <description type="1">
    <narrative xml:lang="en">The overall objective for the project is to contribute to increased gender equality, poverty eradication, and inclusive economic growth.&#13;
&#13;
The project has four sub-objectives:&#13;
1) Local Partner and school health clubs have the tools and capacity to advocate for improved health rights for girls and boys towards duty-bearers on a local level.&#13;
&#13;
2) Duty-bearers are actively engaged in improving the access to MHM and WASH to both girls and boys in the six schools and the surrounding communities.&#13;
&#13;
3) Girls, boys, their families, and community women have knowledge and practical capacity concerning MHM and SRHR.&#13;
&#13;
4) Women in the communities have decreased dependency on their spouses and have knowledge on business management and the ability to grow their own businesses so they can earn their own income.&#13;
&#13;
The project will be implemented in Kisongo and Duruma, two areas within the Arusha Region of Tanzania. Three primary schools, three secondary schools, and the surrounding communities have been selected. These areas are characterized by low levels of awareness and strong stigma related to both Menstrual Health Management (MHM) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), as well as pronounced gender roles where women are subordinate to men—particularly in decision-making and access to financial resources. Limited agency affects women’s and girls’ access to menstrual hygiene products and their ability to generate their own income.</narrative>
