<narrative xml:lang="en">The Swedish Foundation for Human Rights, in partnership with Clowns Without Borders, ForumCiv, the Association Framtidsjorden, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, Practical Solidarity and The Hunger Project Sweden, implements the Transformative Partnerships Programme: Advancing Rights, Resilience and Sustainability (TPP).

The programme is funded by Sida and carried out under the Swedish Government’s Strategy for Civil Society Development Cooperation 2025–2029.
The programme encompasses 54 civil society organisations operating in 28 countries.

Under the programme, the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights supports partner organisations in Colombia, Myanmar and Uganda working to secure accountability, access to justice and redress for victims of conflict and serious human rights violations. The supported initiatives include transitional justice processes, psychosocial support, documentation of violations, and the promotion of women’s and LGBTQI rights. The programme also aims to increase civic participation and reinforce respect for human rights in restrictive environments.

Through multi-year funding provided by Sida, the Foundation maintains long-term partnerships with CAJAR, MOVICE, the Indigenous Lawyers’ Collective Akubadaura, ACFODE, and two Myanmar based organisations focusing on human rights documentation and LGBTQI rights. Long-term cooperation enables institutional strengthening, sustained engagement in shrinking civic space, and the effective implementation of rights-based approaches in high-risk contexts.

The programme contributes to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda by promoting inclusive societies, access to justice and accountable institutions.

Through long-term commitment, strong partnerships and a rights-based approach, the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights contributes to building resilient societies founded on justice, accountability and respect for human rights.</narrative>

<narrative xml:lang="en">The overall objective of the Transformative Partnerships Programme (TPP) is to contribute to more just, peaceful and resilient societies, where a strengthened civil society meaningfully advances democratic governance, the realisation of human rights, and sustainable solutions for conflict transformation and climate justice.

Under TPP, the programme is expected to contribute to the following outcomes:

1. Strengthened autonomous civil society for transformative change – enhancing the capacity, autonomy and influence of local civil society to mobilise rights-holders, participate in dialogue, shape policies, and contribute to democratic participation, climate justice, and conflict transformation. This outcome represents a particular focus for the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights, reflecting our emphasis on transitional justice and human rights.

2. Conflict-resilient and empowered communities – strengthening local communities’ agency and resilience through civil society-led engagement in inclusive, trust-building processes that promote justice, healing and accountability. Outcome 2 is also a priority for the Foundation, in line with our work to advance human rights and transitional justice.

3. Sustainable livelihoods and climate justice – through capable civil society organisations, improving communities’ resilience and well-being using inclusive, rights-based approaches to climate adaptation, sustainable livelihoods, food sovereignty (ensuring rights-holders have control over local food systems), and land use.</narrative>
