CH-FDJP-CHE305100662-XM-DAC-7-PPR-24-0000560 Principles for Peace Foundation Uniting for a Shared Future (USF) is a high-level, discreet coalition of over 550 Israeli and Palestinian leaders from Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, and the diaspora, including former ministers, diplomats, parliamentarians, senior security officials, tech entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, journalists, and civil society figures. Formed in response to October 7 and the war in Gaza, USF emerged from a shared recognition that the current trajectory is unsustainable. It acts through pragmatic engagement to pave the way for a just political resolution within a broader regional framework. The USF coalition is guided by five fundamental principles: - Mutual recognition and acknowledgment of the right to 
self-determination, statehood and independence. - Dignity and equality, where all people have the opportunity to live a life of dignity free from fear and inequality. - Security and safety, where people's right to security and to live free from fear are mutually supported and guaranteed. - Agency and inclusion, where all Israelis and Palestinians are able to play a role in shaping a just and sustainable peace. - Trust through healing, where we acknowledge and address the injustices, grievances, and fears so that future generations can be free to live as closely and cooperatively as possible. USF operates within a robust framework designed to foster collaboration and effective action, with two uni-national and one binational working group, and three specialized tracks. P4P convenes its binational efforts and acts as the secretariat, and midwife of the USF effort. A broad-based and cross-sectoral coalition was consolidated around a jointly agreed Charter, providing a clear normative framework and shared language for engagement across political, societal, and economic domains. This platform rapidly moved from alignment to operational engagement, supported by an actionable roadmap and organised into three core sub-tracks – political, economic, and public opinion – that enabled sustained collaboration. Through regular convenings, working groups, and structured follow-up, USF created functional channels for joint analysis, initiative development, and coordinated action, maintaining engagement despite a rapidly evolving and highly constrained political context. Crucially, USF has evolved into a functioning political infrastructure, capable of sustaining Israeli-Palestinian engagement when formal channels are blocked, while also generating policy inputs, supporting coalition-building, and feeding into international processes. The secretariat function provided by P4P has ensured continuity, coordination, and strategic support, enabling the coalition to translate its shared principles into concrete actions. As a result, USF is not only established and organised, but demonstrably active, providing a credible and scalable platform that contributes to shaping a more conducive environment for a just and sustainable resolution of the conflict. The coalition has successfully become a credible and increasingly trusted interface between Israeli-Palestinian constituencies and international frameworks. Continued engagement positioned USF to actively support and inform diplomatic processes, mobilising international actors and contributing to the shaping of policy frameworks. Through its role, USF has strengthened its ability to connect domestic perspectives with global decision-making, helping to build support and alignment around a political horizon. USF established a two-way participatory feedback mechanism composed of several complementary channels. These included direct international engagement with leaders, contacts, and consultative bodies. The mechanism was further reinforced from early 2025 through the integration of an Israel-Palestine track into the P4P-CMED regional conference (now GAPS MENA), which convenes key European and regional diplomatic and political actors. Together, these channels, supported by the P4P secretariat, enabled coalition members to test political options, identify constraints, and provide grounded inputs into Track I and Track 1.5 processes, while continuously refining emerging proposals within the coalition. Over the course of the reporting period, the initiative continuously expanded its direct engagement with international actors, contributing to key initiatives alongside sustained outreach to governments, multilateral actors, and policy fora. In addition, the establishment of the Global Solidarity Group (GSG) provided a structured platform to mobilise international networks, support advocacy efforts, and facilitate access to decision-makers across major policy hubs. Together, these achievements underpin the coalition’s strengthened capacity to mobilise international actors, inform diplomatic frameworks, and contribute to the conditions necessary for advancing a just and sustainable political solution. This integrated approach ensures that international efforts are informed by politically grounded and operationally viable insights, translating coalition inputs into concrete policy influence and diplomatic alignment, while the GSG amplifies reach and strengthens coordination across global stakeholders. USF successfully built an increasingly broad, diverse, and credible peace constituency across Israeli, Palestinian, and international spheres. Regular binational forums and active national chapters created a layered architecture of engagement, enabling continuous dialogue, trust-building, and alignment among political, civil society, media, business, and security actors. These spaces strengthened both cross-divide relationships and intra-societal cohesion, providing the foundation for collective action in a highly polarised context. At the same time, the coalition expanded significantly from around 70 founding members to over 550 members, while deliberately integrating actors from key centres of influence, including political leaders, senior security figures, media and academic figures. This positioned USF from a traditional peacebuilding platform into a credible interface between societal actors and formal political systems, increasing its relevance and potential to shape discourse and policy. This expansion was complemented by targeted efforts to deepen constituency-building. In parallel, a sub-granting mechanism enabled concrete action by supporting aligned initiatives and strengthening the link between dialogue, public engagement, and policy-oriented work. A shared communications approach further reinforced this effort with the dissemination of USF insights through coalition statements and policy inputs, P4P’s external engagements and coalition members’ respective spheres – diffusing shared narratives across political, media, and international settings.
