  <description type="1">
    <narrative xml:lang="en">The project, titled “Improved Employability of Host and Refugee Youth in Beirut and Mount Lebanon,” is a comprehensive 13-month intervention designed to address the increasing socio-economic vulnerabilities faced by youth in Lebanon. Implemented by NABAD, the project adopts a holistic and multi-sectoral approach targeting both host and refugee communities, with a strong focus on enhancing employability, entrepreneurship, and social resilience.&#13;
&#13;
The project is structured around several integrated components. First, it provides capacity-building interventions, including life skills, job-seeking skills, digital literacy, English language, and vocational training aligned with labor market demands such as digital marketing, AI, and web development. Second, it incorporates entrepreneurship support, where selected youth and households receive training and phased cash grants to establish or expand small businesses. Third, the project includes a protection and empowerment component targeting young women, offering tailored sessions on life skills, positive parenting, and protection topics, alongside entrepreneurship opportunities. Additionally, livelihood counseling and work-based learning are provided to facilitate smoother transitions into employment. Finally, the project integrates Social Behavior Change (SBC) initiatives, encouraging youth-led community engagement to promote positive social norms, protection, and social cohesion.&#13;
&#13;
Through this multi-layered design, the project not only enhances individual capacities but also contributes to broader community resilience and economic recovery.</narrative>

    <narrative xml:lang="en">The overall objective of the project is to enhance the economic self-sufficiency and livelihood opportunities of vulnerable youth in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. This is achieved by equipping them with relevant skills, improving their access to labor market opportunities, and fostering entrepreneurial initiatives.&#13;
&#13;
To support this overarching goal, the project is guided by two key specific objectives. The first objective focuses on facilitating youth access to employment by providing comprehensive employability and entrepreneurial skills training to 140 young men and women, alongside supporting 20 youth with cash grants to establish or upgrade businesses. The second objective specifically targets the empowerment of young women by equipping them with life skills, protection awareness, positive parenting knowledge, and entrepreneurship training, enabling them to improve their socio-economic conditions and actively participate in their communities.&#13;
&#13;
Overall, the project aims to build resilience, promote gender equality, and support sustainable livelihood pathways for vulnerable youth.</narrative>

  <description type="3">
    <narrative xml:lang="en">The project directly targets a total of 170 beneficiaries from vulnerable Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian communities in Beirut and Mount Lebanon. This includes 140 youth (male and female) who will benefit from employability, vocational, and entrepreneurship interventions, and 30 young women who will receive specialized support through protection, life skills, and entrepreneurship activities.&#13;
&#13;
Beneficiaries are selected based on vulnerability criteria, including unemployment, limited educational background, socio-economic hardship, and exposure to risks such as child labor or early marriage. Special attention is given to youth-led households, individuals with disabilities, and young women facing social and economic barriers.&#13;
&#13;
In addition to direct beneficiaries, the project is expected to reach a significant number of indirect beneficiaries, including family members and community members, through knowledge transfer, improved household income, and community-level social change initiatives. This broader outreach enhances the project’s impact by fostering economic stability, social cohesion, and positive behavioral change within the targeted communities.</narrative>
