GB-COH-07921860-PCRAM Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change Private investment in climate adaptation and resilience remains below what is required to address escalating physical climate risks. Investors lack consistent methodologies, data, and tools to assess and integrate climate resilience into investment decisions. Building on the work of the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI), IIGCC’s Physical Climate Risk Assessment Methodology (PCRAM) and the Climate Resilience Investment Framework (CRIF) are filling this gap by providing practical, investor-led approaches to appraise and manage physical climate risk. In Years 1&2 of FCDO support, PCRAM was strengthened, piloted through case studies, and integrated as the foundational methodology for CRIF, establishing a framework to embed resilience into investment strategies. Year 3 focuses on consolidating, scaling, and institutionalising these frameworks to drive systemic adoption across the finance sector. IIGCC will finalise and disseminate PCRAM 2.0 and CRIF, produce targeted guidance for integrating PCRAM into FCDO programmes (e.g., PIDG, BII, FSD Africa), expand CRIF to new asset classes such as sovereign bonds, and strengthen the data and standards ecosystem through collaboration with UNDRR, Howden, and others. This final phase will ensure PCRAM and CRIF are embedded within investor practice, regulatory standards, and policy framework, enabling the finance sector to assess, disclose, and invest in climate-resilient assets at scale, catalysing private capital for adaptation and resilience in both developed and emerging markets.
