  <description type="1">
    <narrative xml:lang="en">IIDS understands that IFPRI, in partnership with FCDO, GSMA, and 3ie, is implementing an impact evaluation to assess three private sector-led digital AgTech B2B platform’s digital and AI-enabled agricultural advisory services including GeoKrishi. The study aims to evaluate the platforms’ effects on farmers’ behavior, productivity, and commercial sustainability, and to explore the enabling environment for digital agricultural innovations.&#13;
&#13;
IIDS recognizes that this assignment entails implementing high-quality quantitative surveys and qualitative data collection in Lumbini Province, targeting both users and non-users of digital and AI-enabled agricultural advisory services in Nepal. Approximately 1,400–1,800 households, along with key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) will be conducted to provide evidence-based insights into AgTech B2B platforms’ operations, impact, and scalability. IFPRI will lead the survey design, while IIDS will translate, pretest, field mobilization, quality control, and data delivery within the agreed timeline (December 2025–May 2026).</narrative>

    <narrative xml:lang="en">IIDS’s survey team recognizes that the purpose of this assignment is to collect reliable, gender-sensitive, and contextually relevant data to support IFPRI’s impact evaluation of digital and AI-enabled advisory services. Specifically, the assignment seeks to:&#13;
•	Generate high-quality quantitative data from households to assess user outcomes and control group comparisons.&#13;
•	Gather qualitative insights from key actors (farmers, cooperatives, financial institutions, value chain actors) to complement survey findings.&#13;
•	Ensure ethical, accurate, and timely data collection, aligned with IFPRI’s research protocols.</narrative>

&#13;
The quantitative data collection process will be designed to ensure statistical rigor, data reliability, and adherence to IFPRI’s research protocols. The steps outlined below describe the sequential methodological approach that IIDS will adopt:&#13;
&#13;
Sampling and Listing&#13;
IIDS will conduct a rapid household listing exercise in the study villages of Lumbini Province to establish a comprehensive sampling frame. The listing will identify eligible treatment households (current digital and AI-enabled advisory service users) and control households (non-users) to facilitate a robust counterfactual analysis. GeoKrishi and AgTech B2B platforms will provide user lists, while non-user households will be identified through field-based household enumeration in coordination with local cooperatives and government institutions at local level. Randomization and stratified sampling procedures will be applied following IFPRI’s design to ensure representativeness across districts, ecological zones, and farmer categories. Detailed records of household identifiers, GPS coordinates, and contact information will be securely maintained.</narrative>
