SE-ON-802402-5143-FairtradeSweden Fairtrade Sweden The project aims to enhance the rights, livelihoods, and democratic participation of young women and men (15-35 years) in Fairtrade certified coffee cooperatives in Uganda. Through a multi-stakeholder approach involving civil society actors, cooperatives, and youth organizations, the initiative will enable more inclusive structures where youth are given a seat at the decision making table for a more sustainable coffee sector in Uganda. Fairtrade Sweden will oversee the project and administer the grant, ensure agreement compliance, backstop FTA on project implementation, oversee the overall project implementation, ensure reporting to and dialogue with Sida. The lead implementing organisation for this project will be Fairtrade Africa (FTA). FTA has its head office in Nairobi and maintains a fully staffed coordination office in Kampala, Uganda, ensuring strong in-country presence and operational effectiveness. FTA has a well-established track record in Uganda, working with 17 Fairtrade-certified coffee producer cooperatives across Eastern, Western, and Southwestern Uganda.
