As countries work towards harmonised legal frameworks and enhanced cross-border collaboration, the Convention presents opportunities to improve cybersecurity, strengthen institutional capacity, and support coordinated responses to cyber-related crimes. However, it also raises important concerns regarding the protection of human rights, including privacy, freedom of expression, and the potential risks of expanded surveillance and misuse of digital laws. In this context, Bloggers Zambia is convening a Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue to provide a platform for critical reflection and engagement on the Convention and its implications at both national and global levels. The dialogue aims to bring together key stakeholders, including journalists, civil society organisations, policymakers, and cybersecurity experts, to strengthen understanding of the Convention and promote informed, inclusive participation in digital policy processes.
