FR-RCS-83162039800030-001 The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) Despite the existence of WHO guidelines, child mortality among acutely malnourished children remains high due to challenges in early recognition of severe illness. The RISQ System—a validated clinical decision-support tool—has shown greater than 95% probability of reduction in mortality in the CRIMSON trial in Chad, confirming its life-saving potential. Building on the success of the CRIMSON trial using a paper-based documentation record, the RISQ Digital Implementation Project will develop an automated version of the documentation system through a bilingual (English/French) mobile and web application that automates RISQ score calculation using age-specific parameters and integrates clinical guidance, training materials, and reference resources. The pilot testing is conducted through a participatory process, in Nigeria, Katsina State, Kaita Local Government Area (LGA), leveraging existing OPTIMA operational teams. By translating robust research into an accessible digital solution, RISQ Digital represents a vital step from research to impact - improving identification and prioritization of care of sick children, through clinical decision support, to improve survival outcomes for the most vulnerable children.
